Ñymejan – the big valley

In the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, there is a place hidden and wonderful calling Ñymejan, where you can contemplate the sunrises more spectacular in the heart of the jungle and over mountains, where they can see the birds more spectacular with their heavenly singing.

This is a special place for the indigenous people called: The leap Sacred Ñymejan, you'll be able to enjoy the ruins as sacred, special attention of the cozy hostels cared for by the farmers, enjoy spectacular meals depending on your tastes, and by direct integration with indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

First day: SANTA MARTA - CASA ARCO IRIS.

• 06.30 am, the pick up from your hotel to the HOSTAL CASA ARCO IRIS in Minca to 500 meters where you will have breakfast energy to regain strength and continue our adventure.
• 07.30 am, we continue in the jeep for two hours and thirty minutes, enjoying the beautiful landscapes and savoring a good coffee echo by natives of the coffee plantations that are in the sector, we also see from the highest point of the mountain called San Lorenzo throughout the city of Santa Marta.
•  we started the walk for an hour and a half where we sighting of the Pyrrhura Viridicata, is a species of bird best known as a Parakeet, Santa Marta.
• we pass by the laguna Madre of Panku and continue up to the base of CERRO KENNEDY to 3,000 meters asl. enjoying some juicy fruit. 
• 12.00 pm, it starts to go downhill for an hour to Casa Arco Iris, we had lunch and rested for about two hours, then you will be able to enjoy the farm and its activities, you will meet the organic gardens etc
• In the evening you'll enjoy a great dinner with great atmosphere, campfire and resting.

Second day: Casa Arco Iris – PALACE OF THE CLOUDS

• We woke up at 6:00 with a good cup of coffee.
• 06.30 am, we have breakfast and prepare for the hike of the day.
• 07.30 am,  We started a tour of 12 km for 7 hours approximately to the Hostel The PALACE OF THE CLOUDS where we will enjoy the wonderful viewpoint of the great Valley of the ÑYMEJAN, magical point where you'll be above the clouds, appreciating that great sun bright and beautiful, the road is of declines in its entirety, in which you can find endemic birds like macaw Ara Militaris, also the howler monkeys until you get to the waterfall the beautiful, there you will have time to take a bath and enjoy the place.
• We continue our journey for another two hours to finally reach the PALACE OF THE CLOUDS at approximately 14:00, we had lunch and rested for a bit waiting to see the beautiful sunset, by the night, Dinner and a bonfire.

Third day: the PALACE OF THE CLOUDS – THE JAGUARS.

• 05:00 am, This day we got up early to appreciate the beautiful view of the glaciers, accompanied of a good coffee organic
• 07:30 am, we had breakfast and we then walk 7 miles in 6 hours going through THE ROUTE OF THE WATERFALLS, THE MOUNTAIN SACRED IN INDIGENOUS RUINS cobbled communicate with the JUMP SACRED ÑYMEJAN sacred site and place of payment.
• 12:00 pm, We swim in in the JACKPOT for an hour enjoying some juicy fruit and refreshment to continue for another two hours until the Hostal Jaguars, we have lunch, relax, and share with the indigenous people.

Fourth day: THE JAGUARS – SANTA MARTA

• 06.30 am, we had breakfast and then we started the hike of 8 hours and 19 kilometres approximately, where we will visit members of the indigenous communities that we will be able to teach their customs.
• we continue the walk to the WELL OF the GRINGO where we make a stop for a swim and get hydrated, fruits and drinks, then we will find the village of the tribe WIMAKE WIWA, indigenous to the area where we can take photos and live a little with them, then we arrived at the viewpoint of THE BUDGET.
• 14:00 pm, You take a snack to continue one hour more to PUNTA BRAVA, we had Lunch and we will see the shield mas grande de COLOMBIA made in clay while tell us your story.
• 15:30 pm, We got back in the Jeep for two and a half hours to get to our hotel at around 18:00 approx.
