It is one of the beaches where the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta ends, this beach is several kilometers away where two rivers flow: the Palomino River and the Don Diego River.

The only easiest and most economical way to get to Palomino from Santa Marta is by taking a bus that leaves from the Mercado in Santa Marta located on 10th street with race 9 at the back site of the Olimpica Market.

From Rodadero:

Route to palomino:
This bus goes through all the towns that are on the road called «la Troncal del Caribe» including Tayrona Park (4 ways to get to Tayrona Park), the buses are not very comfortable to say but it is a trip of only two hours and a little longer as it stops at all sides.
The good and simple thing is that most people go to Palomino so the driver will stop and ask who is going to stay in palomino, after you get off you will cross the road and you will walk for 20 minutes until you reach the beach or you could take a motorbike that costs $ 3,000 COP or $ 1,00 USD.
You can also get to the central bus station by taking one of the buses that go to the Guajira that leaves you on the road but this station is almost outside of Santa Marta.
If you want to get to the palomino bus station by taxi, it will cost you $ 15,000 COP or $ 5.00 dollars and from Taganga you’ll get $ 10,000 COP or $ 3.5 dollars.
